Sander Group is in 2010 Turkish Rally Championship
Ekrem Tezel and Burçin Kormaz who participated in Ford Otosan Kocaeli Rally, the 3rd Race of Turkish Rally Championship, under the sponsorship of Sander Group had an unfortunate weekend in İzmit. The team started the race very fast, made the best timing in N2 Class in the first three laps and took the lead in N2 class. But the team had an axle problem in the fourth lap and had to leave the race afterwards. The team first repaired the Fiat Palio brand car by themselves, then reached the service point and had to leave the race at the first service point.
Pilot Ekrem Tezel commented on the race: “Such a bad finish for the rally that we started remarkably upset us very much. Unfortunately we are returning without any points from İzmit where we came hoping for absolute victory and points. We will make up for the loss in next rallies.”
Co-pilot Burçin Korkmaz stated their assertiveness: "The next race will be at home, in Istanbul. We will get the show on the road at last in Istanbull Rally where we have raced before, we will show our real performance and gain a victory.”
The 4th race of 2010 Turkish Rally Championship will continue with VIAPORT Istanbul Rally. The race will be organized on 3-4 July in Pendik and Şile districts of Istanbul and it will be on earth track. Ekrem Tezel and Burçin Korkmaz will participate in this race under the sponsorship of Sander Group.
